Scheduling Games

Game Scheduling:  A Step-by-Step Guide

This guide outlines the process for managing game schedules, including initial schedules, confirmations, changes, and communication.

Initial Game Schedules:

  • The league (MidNJ or EDP) will provide initial game schedules, including home and away games, which will be uploaded into GotSport.
  • GotSport will contain the initial date, time, and venue for each game.

Scheduling Field Locations & Times:

  • Home Game:  The club will use the GotSport schedule to assign specific game times and locations for home games at the beginning of the season and update GotSport accordingly.
  • Away Game:  The opposing team is responsible for updating GotSport with the game time and location for away games.

Confirming Game Schedule Availability:

  • The manager is responsible for confirming game details with their team members, trainer, and the opposing team.  This includes date, location, venue, and uniform colors
  • If you or the opposing team cannot play a game as scheduled then please follow the game change process below

Changing Game Days or Times (Switches):

  • Home Games:  Contact the opposing team first to find alternative dates/times. Once you have potential options, submit a request through the MSC Switch Sheet.  The club will then provide a confirmed alternative date/time, which you should communicate to the opposing team.
  • Away Games:  Communicate directly with the opposing team through GotSport to find an alternative date/time that works for both teams.

Game Schedule Confirmation - Week Prior to a Game:

  • One week prior to a scheduled game, the manager should reconfirm availability with your team and opposing team
  • No game changes are permitted after Tuesday
  • Home Game Confirmation Process:
    • The club will ask you each week to confirm the availability via a weekly confirmation email.  Please complete the confirmation form by Tuesday.
    • If you or the opposing team are unable to field a team, you must let us know as soon as possible, but before Tuesday
    • A final field schedule email will be sent at the end of each week. This is the master schedule, so please review it carefully. Field availability may necessitate venue changes, which will be reflected in this email. Immediately inform the opposing team of any field changes.

Game Schedule Communication:

  • Manager Responsibility:  You are responsible for communicating the finalized game schedule (including any changes) with your team members, trainer, and the opposing team.
  • Communicating with the Opposing Team:  All communications should be done through GotSport.
  • Communicating with Your Team:  Your team does not have access to GotSport. Please share the game schedule with them directly through TeamSnap.
